What's not included

The resort will run a local tab for in resort and dive centre extras. There is a 300PHP local diving fee charged per day, added to your final bill

Your holiday starts with a road transfer from Manila airport. There's no domestic flight or island ferry to arrange, saving the extra airfare and another check-in with your dive bags. It's a straightforward way to reach one of the Philippines' most celebrated macro-diving destinations. Solitude Acacia invites guests to slow down, explore beneath the surface, and enjoy a seamless stay...whether your focus is macro diving, underwater photography, or simply unwinding by the sea.
Diving takes centre stage, with a ratio of two divers per guide giving you personal attention as you explore Anilao's reefs and critter-rich slopes. Look closely for nudibranchs, frogfish and the smaller marine life that makes every dive a treasure hunt. For another perspective, add a night or blackwater dive and discover the fascinating creatures that emerge after dark.
Photographers are well looked after ashore too. The air-conditioned camera lounge has spacious powered workstations, dedicated rinse tanks and air guns, providing a comfortable place to prepare and care for your equipment between dives.
Food is a highlight of a stay at Acacia. Freshly prepared Filipino, Asian and international dishes make mealtimes something to look forward to, with desserts well worth saving room for. Enjoy the ocean views from the glass-walled, air-conditioned restaurant or choose the sea breeze on the alfresco balcony.
The resort's 25 rooms are arranged around tropical gardens, with a magnificent acacia tree shading the pool and restaurant area. Choose a comfortable Deluxe room set behind the seafront buildings, upgrade to a Sea View Deluxe or treat yourself to a spacious upper-floor Sea View Suite. King or twin bed arrangements are available, and the suites offer an additional lounge area and inviting sunset views.
Between dives, cool off in the pool, arrange a massage or settle down with a drink at the Dive Bar. Whether you arrive on your own or with your favourite dive buddy, Solitude Acacia offers an appealing rhythm: dive, dine, relax. And see what tomorrow brings.
Diving at Solitude Acacia Resort
With more than 40 dive sites nearby, Anilao is world-famous for its impressive variety of habitats, supporting an ever-changing cast of captivating critters, schooling fish, and gentle coral reefs. Not least are the nudis. This is perhaps the most diverse nudibranch destination, from the microscopic to rare bubble dottos and pikacus.
For your optimal comfort and enjoyment, a standard guide: diver ratio is 1:2.
A typical day begins with two morning dives from the resort's dive boats. Divers then return to the resort for lunch before heading back out for a third dive in the afternoon. Night diving and blackwater diving are optional extras and can be easily arranged with your guide on board. The pace is relaxed, with dives typically lasting 60-70 minutes. Between dives, enjoy freshly baked biscuits, tea, coffee, and fruit.
Blackwater diving in Anilao in particular is a must-do. For more experienced divers, it offers the chance to encounter some of the strangest and most spectacular juvenile species and nocturnal feeders, drawn in by specialised lights suspended over deep water.
Solitude Acacia Resort's experienced dive guides actively document and track marine life activity to stay updated on where certain species are being spotted, though guests should keep in mind that nature is unpredictable and encounters can never be guaranteed.
Before every dive, guests receive a detailed briefing from one of the resort's dive guides, either at the Dive Centre by the pool or directly at the dive site from the boat. Divers with specific interests or photo goals are encouraged to share them with their guide, who will do their best to help, while also keeping the experience open to the excitement of unexpected discoveries.
Diving from Solitude Acacia takes place from traditional bangka-style boats, which are stable in the water and ideal for cruising dive sites along the coastline. For a local supplement, divers can also explore the reefs of nearby Maricaban Island - well worth including during the trip.
At the Dive Centre, the team upholds the highest safety standards that Solitude Liveaboards and Resorts are known for. Courses are conducted on-site, making full use of the surrounding calm, shallow waters as well as nearby open-water areas.

3Pay a deposit to secure it
Typically 30% of the holiday cost. You then receive your confirmation and ATOL certificate. The balance is usually due 90 days before travel.
Solitude Acacia Resort combines world-class diving, refined comfort and effortless relaxation in Anilao Philippines, only 3 hours drive from Manila. Your package includes 7 nights in a twin/double deluxe room on an full board basis - optional room grades available, as well as 18 air or nitrox boat dives (3 per day). Please do ask your travel consultant if you would like to prebook additional diving. Special day trips are organised on site, and kit rental and park fees (300PHP per day) are paid locally. A return land transfer from Manila airport to the resort is included.
This holiday excludes international flights. Please ask for a quote to add international flights from the UK to your holiday. We can book most major scheduled airlines including regional UK departures to Manila.
To enter the Philippines, your passport must have an "expiry date" at least 6 months after the date you arrive.
Entry Visa:
You can visit the Philippines without a visa for tourism or business for up to 30 days.
Travel registration
You must have a QR code to show that you have registered on the e-travel system within the 72 hours before your arrival in the Philippines. https://etravel.gov.ph/
Some airlines will not allow you to board your flight to the Philippines if you cannot show the QR code. The e-travel registration is free of charge.
Most UK visitors are also expected to have proof of return or onward travel. Immigration officials and airlines may ask for this.
