Liveaboard FAQ

Here’s how liveaboards work, why they’re so popular, and how to choose the right one for you.

  • More diving, less travel: you wake up on-site and dive the best locations at the best times.
  • Access remote sites: reefs, pinnacles and wrecks that day-boats can’t easily reach.
  • Simple and social: accommodation, meals and diving together — ideal for a proper dive-focused week.
  • Start with your “must see” list: sharks, mantas, wrecks, macro, reefs — then match it to the best destination and season.
  • Choose a route that fits your experience: currents, crossings and remote itineraries can be more demanding.
  • Pick your comfort level: cabin style, deck space, group size, camera facilities and nitrox all make a difference.
  • Check what’s included: park fees, equipment hire, transfers, and flight options vary by boat and region.
Typically 3–4 dives per day (conditions permitting), with briefings before each dive, meals/snacks between, and time to relax. Night dives may be offered depending on the itinerary and local rules.
It depends on the destination and route. Some itineraries are ideal for newer divers; others involve strong currents, deeper profiles, or remote areas. If you’re unsure, we’ll recommend the best match for your experience and comfort level.
Reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag, spare straps, seasickness tablets if you’re prone, and a light layer for breezy evenings. If you’re flying, check baggage limits — dive kit and camera gear can add up quickly.
